MORE DOLPHINS - WHOOPEE!
22 April 2011
On to today, Sunday the 17. Dave has been threatening to make bread and stirred up his first batch aboard in Mexico. Then we pulled anchor and just went sailing with the intention of returning to a nearby anchorage. Dave has not caught fish like he has on our northern sailing expeditions. So there was the intent to go fishing. His lack of luck held true but we had a spectacular day whale and dolphin watching. It’s amazing to be floating on the home of these magnificent sea creatures and watch them go about their life. Then we pulled into an anchorage that is between two islands and which is created by the breached wall of a volcanic crater. The wind is pretty crazy around this area. Blowing from the north as it is now, we expect by evening it will switch to the south and where we anchored, hoping for protection. Last night, after midnight, our little home was bobbing hard on the south swells and sleeping is difficult when you have to hang onto the mattress to keep from rolling. However, wind from any direction keeps the bobos and the nose’ems away. I lit the oven just before anchoring and we are now enjoying bread & butter, and wish you were here!
