Quetzal Flew in front of us, With tail streaming
At Los Albores, we were guided by John's excellent ear, as he knows over 300 Guatemalan birds by sound. And we marveled as he called in his friends from the forest. We saw the Resplendent Quetzal, as John whistled to a pair he heard from afar, into the trees on our left, and then they flew across the open dirt road with the turquoise ribbon tale of the male, streaming behind.
