GUATEMALA TRIP

Good to be in Truck that Laughs at Ruts!
Monday morning John, Dave and Marj rode the local bus from Coban to El Rancho, where we got a taxi to Augustine, a small town where we got permits to enter the national reserve, Sierra de los Minas, and to meet our driver to the cabins in the cloud forest at Los Albas. Here we experienced the birding adventure of our life-time, with details of adventure in post "We found the Resplendent Quetzal". The trip in and out of Los Albas took several hours to cover about 50 miles in a tough, four-wheel truck over some deeply rutted roads. Beautiful going up and into the forest, Glorious winding down and over the mountain with 250 degree views of mountains and valleys and villages.
