COASTING COST RICA
18 February 2014 | TAMPOR
RESIDENT COLONY OF WILD MACAWS LIVE HERE IN TAMPOR.
While we were at the organic market, our recent acquaintance Bill on Fai Yin sailed into the bay and anchored. We tried to call to him on our dinghy ride back to Kievit but he was sound asleep after 24 hr of single handing his boat (no working autohelm) from Coco. We did talk to Bill later in the day and he is recovering after the long sail with new boat problems.
Fishing on the trip from Coco to Ballena was fair to good. We hooked up with one large ray that we got near the boat before it broke loose. We landed 3-4 Black Skipjacks (good fighters but poor eating, And marj won't allow them on the boat, anymore...too bloody), one Corvella Jack that we released, and two Bonitos that we kept and have eaten. They were very good as a matter of fact, our offering for the French potluck.
Tomorrow (Sunday) we will try to take the bus to Greg and Cindy house. Beyond that, there are numerous good anchorages here in Golfo de Nicolya and we can see spending a week or more enjoying this part of the world.
Signing off from Paradise. PURA VIDA
