However, the anchorage was open to a strong southeast swell and Kievit rolled on her beams all night long. Dave finally gave up trying to sleep at 2:00 A.M. and headed out for our next planned stop at Bahia Ballena in the Golfo de Nicoya. There was an adverse current running against us all along this coast and we had to motor sail most of the distance (54 nm). Leaving at 2:00 in the morning got us into Ballena by 14:00 on Friday afternoon.
