Today, Wed, we are taking it easy and preparing Kievit for departure tomorrow for a 3-5 day sail to Costa Rica. A highlight of our stay here has been swims and body surfing in the ocean and long walks on the beautiful 14 mi long white sand beach. The beach goes great with watching sun rises and sun sets. We plan a last evening beach party (with just the three of us), sunset, then grilling some fresh fish on Kievit.
High tide tomorrow isn’t until 4:00 p.m., so we will be off late and do an overnight sail to the Nicaragua coast. The papagayo winds are blowing this time of year. We plan to pick our way down the coast, taking advantage of small, near shore anchorages at night. It is probable that we will be out of email (or phone) contact for a week. The next blog update will be from Playa del Coco, Costa Rica. Hopefully there will be some good sailing, fishing and snorkeling stories to tell.
