It was decided to stop at the village of Colorado, which sits off the estuary on the ocean side. An American from Seattle organized a sewing co-op and jewelry/beading group there. She comes here once or twice a year to buy what has been made and takes it back to Seattle for sale in gift shops. The Colorado women get their fabric from the acclaimed weaving town in the mountains of El Salvador and turn it into purses, bags and backpacks. Isabel found a woman from the co-op as we walked there, and I felt it necessary to buy some of the lovely bags. I really had to!
