Caelestis has officiall departed Tarawa and headed for Honolulu. It will be about a 3 week journey...averaging about 100 miles/day. We would have liked to have departed sooner but that is the way it goes sometime. We said our goodbyes to all our new friends and hope to see them again soon someday. Somehow I think we will.
It's 2pm and the doldrums have set in. Winds were 8-11 knots for the past 24 hours but they literally dropped off to nothing. BUMMER! So, now we are motorsailing....and it's HOT. Can't do anything without breaking a sweat. Simply put, one can do nothing and still break a sweat!
Gary Morgan didn't return with us to Honolulu because of some good news regarding his non-profit. For months he has been waiting for some significant fuding to come through. Well, the day before we departed, he got the latest good news about the funding. It's exciting times right now and soon the sky will be the limit with what we want to accomplish in the Republic of Kiribati. So, there are three of us rotating through the watches instead of four.
