C.Farias/Perfect weather
9/3 - After sailing over 3,000mi in almost 12 days, under moonlight at 3AM we went by the south point of the Island and at 4AM we entered the magnificent Hanavave Bay. At 4:30 we were safely anchored. It is impossible to describe the beauty of this bay. The steep cliffs, the masterly carved peaks, nature's masterpiece indeed, is breathtaking. And I can't descrIbe either the joy we all had.
The crossing was perfect, with light but good winds and Neptune was kind. We caught 3 mahis (lost 5 as we couldn't slow down the boat) and 2 wahoos (Ono in HI). Capt. Jerry, Capt James and Russell did a superb job of sailing and navigating. I was just the relief watch and the software expert. Wil kept Mauliola tidy and clean, and with my help, cooked us delicious meals every day, all served with a smile.
There were no dramas, except when we were trying to bring the fish in with Mauliola refusing to slow down. She has her pace indeed.
At midway point we had bet day to see who would guess the day and time to our arrival at the Bay. It was all sealed and put away. Jerry guessed not only the correct day but the correct hour and the minutes!!! He is good.
As soon as Mauliola was safely anchored we all went to sleep, the sleep of tired sailors. Kaoha to all. Beijos p/ todos. Alguem por favor traduzam para o Portugues.
