March Weekend

09 December 2009
March 19, 2009
We headed over to the coast and made great time, no traffic today. Well, Tracy had been here and the new cushions were all in place. They are beautiful. She did a super job. What a nice surprise! We unloaded the car and got settled. We decided on burgers and potato salad in the cockpit as it was 70+ degrees!! We watched the sun go down and then turned in early.

We spent the day doing errands in new Bern. Then decided to try a new local restaurant in town. The special was fish and chips and since Joe and I both love seafood we both ordered them. Well, it was by far the worst meal ever. Neither of us could eat it, it smelled like cat food. I think it must have been bad. They appologised and didn't charge us and we left. I don't think we will ever return. We then stopped for a pizza and went back to the boat.

We woke up to a really cold, windy day. We spent the day aboard just enjoying the peace and quiet. There are not many peope around this time of year. We had our first guest, a large Rotweiler named Jasmine. She was beautiful and quite friendly. I could adopt her in a minute!!! We were walking around the marina and met a couple from Charlotte. They were really nice and we ended up spending the night talking up at the club house.

We woke early and headed for home. It was a fun weekend, even if we didn't get to go sailing!
