New Year's Weekend

10 February 2010
December 30, 2009
Wednesday, We got up early and headed over to the coast. We made good time as the traffic was very light. Yeah! We stopped in new Bern to get our First Night Buttons. We had decided to spend New Year's Eve in New Bern as it was the kick off to their 300th Anniversary Celebration. There were lots of activities planned with fireworks at midnight and it sounded like alot of fun. After getting our buttons we headed over to Oriental where we stopped for a late lunch at The Silos. We were so happy to find no leaks on maxine. It had been soooooo rainy lately we were worried water may have gotten in, but she was completely dry. Yeah! Our friends were over on their boat for the festivities too. It was really cold so we watched a movie and turned in early. Our cabin heater and down comforter kept us nice and warm. It's amazing how tired you get from the ride over.
