Life in Lagos

Friends in the Garden Restaurant
The remaining time we spent in Lagos as autumn approached was an absolute pleasure. We really enjoyed socialising with new friends that Liz and Dave had introduced us to. The lovely Anne and Ken from another Malo 36 (Flying Shadow) have become good friends and been very helpful.
We swam in the hotel pool and also joined the municipal sports centre and went swimming almost daily. The rules are that men have to wear lycra swimming trunks, so it was a sight to behold as Sean emerged from the changing room and hurried to the water dressed in his newly bought "buggie smugglers" and swimming cap. I tried not to laugh........
Friends Dave and Ros from "Degree of Latitude" whom we met on the Portugal Rally were moored near us so we hooked up with them for meals out and took the boats to Culatra.
Other regular activities included darts and morning yoga with Jana and fellow yogi's at 8am three times a week plus coffee and a chat followed by an exciting visit to pingo doce for fresh bread etc. When the time came to return home in November we were sad to leave our boat and new life behind but looked forward to seeing family and friends again especially Emily and Nicky.
