Second Chance for Leros

After the wierd feeling we had from Port Lakki on Leros, we decided to give the island a second chance when we anchored in Pandeli Bay on the east side of the island.
The contrast couldn't have been greater. It was as if this side of the island was back in Greece. With the tiny harbour full, we anchored in the bay and took a long line back to the rocks, along with a multitude of others and many from Turkey.
The beach was packed with holiday-makers (mainly Greek) and the atmosphere was buzzing. After lunch at a beach taverna we settled into the cafe next door for the Grand Prix.
Next morning Steph, Chris and Greg hiked up to the castle where an elderly lady took the one euro entrance fee, but only after she told them that if they couldn't afford it, they could come in for free.
