After a lovely few days in the comfort of civilization it was time to depart for a nice snorkeling/diving location. Viani Bay just a few hours east of Savusavu is a picturesque anchorage protected by the Rainbow Reef.
The reef has many well known dive sites including one of the top 10 sites in the world, "The Great White Wall".

Together with a few other boats in the anchorage we were invited ashore to a Kava ceremony and Lomo (Fijian meal cooked in leaves underground). After the delicious meal we sat on woven mats beside an open fire and drank Kava while listening to the locals casually playing a jam session of guitar and vocals. Our hosts was Jone, the dive master of Dive Academy Fiji.

Peter and a couple of others made arrangements to dive the Great White Wall while we ladies went for a nice paddle around the Bay. They reported the dive to be the most spectacular they had ever done. The Wall is a vertical mass of soft corals all white in color.
It was fun to get together with the other sailors to share stories of the day and a few drinks.
One night we had a games night and played "Catchphrase". Surprisingly (haha) the girls team won and we have been promised dinner out somewhere or alternatively a fresh caught fish.
