Stepped across the border
20 January 2010 | Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten, Netherland Antilles
Lovely fine day and warm
We officially stepped across the invisible border from France to the Netherland Antilles yesterday so Milo's six month residency in 'Australia-approved' countries can start. We had a surprise visit by Kat and Brad on Ghost who arrived yesterday in Sint Maarten and are staying a week...or so they say...it's easy to get harbour sickness in places like this. A nice sheltered harbour with easy access to provisions, marine and hardware shops and other cruisers...sometimes you just don't want to leave. Sam spent a lovely day yesterday with his two mates swimming and climing on rocks and then an invitation for pizza. We picked him up at 9pm last night and he just crashed. We're still mulling over what our next steps will be. If we need to spend six months in the Caribbean before we can head home, we could spend it coming home through the Pacific for a lot less and wouldn't be up for the airfares at the end of it....soooo...still thinking...
