Fire on the beach

13 February 2010 | Explorer Island in the Lagoon
And the kids get-togethers keep on coming. Wednesday night at Turtle Pier is a regular cruisers get-together but a lot of kids turn up and have some fun. Then another cruising boat arranged for an afternoon on Kimshaw beach that was well attended. Yesterday, I arranged for a fire on the beach and BBQ at Explorer Island, and we had about 20 kids and parents turn up. We BBQ's hot dogs since it's hard to find sausages as such, but that was easy on our gas BBQ. The kids...and some adults....had fun collecting wood for the fire and afterwards they toasted marshmellows...so, along with five dogs including Milo everyone had a good time.

About:
We left Australia on April 29, 2007 to start our 'cruising the world' adventure with an attitude that life's too short and waiting until retirement might mean the adventure never happens. Sam turned 15 this year and we hope these travels will stay with him for life...in a good way. [...]
Extra:
Also travelling with us is our Shih Tsu Milo, a seasoned boat dog all the way from Australia and an avid fisherman. He's always the most enthusiastic when we land a fish or when the bait net is cast. Actually, he's even enthusiastic when we haven't caught anything. He adores dolphins and runs like [...]
