Back to Vita
25 March 2008 | Puerto Vita Marina
I was on a mission today on our mad dash to return our car on time just outside of Vita. This was my chance to provision up the boat with fresh produce at very low prices. Once back in the marina, the prices are not like the local prices. To be fair, they're not expensive by our standards either but I was keen to provision up as inexpensively as possible. Picked up some bread for two pesos (10c). Picked up tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, bananas for 20 pesos (80c). Then stocked up on various other bits and pieces as we saw the roadside stalls. Our favourite takeaway meal on the trip were the pork rolls you could buy off a roadside vendor. One guy just had the whole cooked pig sitting on top of his cart and was chopping the meat and filling the rolls as required. Magic and they cost 5pesos each or 20c a roll.
