There is no reserve of fresh water in Bermuda and as a result, catching rainwater is a priiority of all households. The roofs over here are built for hurricane conditions and they are also built to catch rain. Interestingly, even the paint they use (white) helps to purify the water.

In 1907, two boys looking for their lost ball dropped a rope through a hole in the ground and 150 feet below they found these caves. Never found their ball. These caves are dated at 1.6 million years old and some of the stalagtites are now under as a result of the last ice age when the water level increased by 150 feet.

When one is visiting a British colony and is also from a British colony, one is very familiar with the tradition of taking tea. As such we took tea at the Willowbank teahouse called Rosie's and enjoyed scones with clotted cream and assorted sandwishes, cakes and biscuits.
