Finally we have internet! This morning we left old Montreal port at around 1030. Unfortunately we left later than we wanted to because there was a lot of noise right next door to the marina and I could not sleep because of the loud base continuous music at a large disco pyramid that played until 3 am both nights!! I guarantee you that none of the sailors or boaters slept accept for my husband Capt. Dan lol! Daniel and his brother left on June 4th from the Kingston Olympic Harbour, slept overnight at the Brockville Municipal Marina because the Brockville Yacht Club was flooded. Gaston and Daniel picked Charlie, Rene, kitty diabetic Pepper and myself in Iroquois. We crossed our first lock in Iroquois and then motored to the Chrysler Marina in Upper Canada
Village and stayed overnight. Our lock adventure started the morning of June 7th. We did Eisenhower, Snell and anchored east of both bridges in Valleyfield. The next day we crossed Beauharnois 1 and 2 and also crossed St. Catherine and St. Lambert and just like that the locks were done. Now the days adventure was about to begin. As we rounded St. Helene we were faced with a 6 knot current heading back toward the Montreal Yacht Club! The current gained and gained and all of a sudden, we were going backwards before we could reach the Jacques Cartier Bridge. Dan decided to go left and managed to make his way through outside the channel. 5-6 feet extra water helped and finished our way toward the Yacht Club. Well 2 hours to do the last 2 miles! The beer was good once we landed. What a nice Yacht Club. No sailboats, lol, too hard to get there. We went into old Montreal and had fun at the pub then had a pizza (I will refrain from talking about the service but the food was really good). Yesterday was a rest day, did some groceries, filled up the boat with beer and had a nice steak on the club BBQ. We left today going eastward again and made it to Sorel at about 4 pm. We were looking for fuel but nothing available until here in Sorel. Good thing we brought a 20 litre can. The only stop after Sorel is Trois Rivières and too far for today. We will continue to Portneuf tomorrow in the rain.
