Arrived Charleston SC
16 January 2018 | Charleston City Marina
After an awesome sendoff by some of our Southport Yacht Club friends (and excellent scones by Cheryl). We had a real nice sail and only used the motor to clear the western channel in Southport and entering Charleston Harbor. We had preloaded a reef in our mainsail based on predicted weather and boy was that a good idea. With a reefed main and head sail, we still were making 6.5kts for most of the trip. Because of our faster travel than expected, we arrived at the entrance to Charleston harbor just as the sun rose. Luckily we were able to take our slip right away. We'll hang out in Charleston to have Christmas with our son Charlie and his family. Not sure of our nest leg with be offshore our in the ICW... We'll have to see how the weather is later in the week.
