Across The Lake (In 27 Hrs)
07 August 2012 | Oswego
We had a ridge of high pressure behind us providing great winds from the NW, backing to Sw near morning increasing to 15 knots. Following, quartering sea making the ride a bit uncomfortable, but allowing us to surf the occasional roller with speeds over 7 kts.
Being summer on Lake Ontario we had to motor sail for about ten hours.
We left before sunrise (5:47 AM) and enjoyed Venus, (this seasons morning star) twice on the voyage.
Cleared Customs & Immigration at 8:09 AM and the rest of the day was spent in getting the mast ready for un-stepping.
