Reality Check
22 February 2009 | La Cruz
Hola Amigos, While many people only see laid-back souls cruising, most cruisers are pretty hyper. You really have to be able to organize your life to leave and then to manage a small city, i.e. your boat.
We now remember how difficult it was to straighten problems out via phone and snail mail when we did our cruise 18 years ago. It is really hard to fix something when you do not know that it is broken. Lewis spent the last 2 days on the Internet trying to find where his retirement checks are going because they are not going into our checking account.
We also took a day off to figure out the rest of the year. Hard to believe that it is mid February and the year feels like it is almost over. We have also been affected by the winter storms in California but the seas have died down so we will take a leisurely cruise up to Mazatlan leaving today. We will spend a few weeks there then cross over to La Paz area, which has many beautiful bays for cruising. We will keep the Merry Lee in La Paz when we come home for 2 weeks from 4/2 to 4/16. We will cruise the La Paz area for a few more weeks. In the 2nd week of May, ML will fly home and Lewis and a couple of able body seamen ( we have one and are looking fore more) will take the Mary Lee up the west coast of Baja, affectionately called the Baja Bash.
Well we are off.
Happy reality checks to you until we Blog again,
Mary Lee and Lewis
