Merry Mac II Florida to POW 2023

Annapolis to Baltimore

Today we wrap up this phase of our journey north with a relatively short sail - approximately 30 miles - north up the Chesapeake and then Northwest into Baltimore Harbor. The morning started off with choppy seas and 20-25 knot winds out of the north. We had to use reefed sails and the motor to plow through the seas and still make good forward progress. Once we got under the bridge that leads to the Delmarva peninsula we killed the engine and just used our sails to carry us the rest of the way to Baltimore. The winds gradually subsided and shifted more easterly so we had a good line to sail northwest into the harbor. By about 2:30 we were approaching the marina and shortly thereafter we tied up and began packing up our belongings to take home for the Memorial Day weekend. Our spouses were still busy visiting a museum and buying Amish baked goods so we grabbed some lunch and ice cream and chatted till they arrived. We are on our way home now and looking forward to some rest.
