Portsmouth to Kennebunkport

We hemmed and hawed till 9:30 am whether to go to Kennebunkport today or wait out the weather and go tomorrow. We decided to go and it was the right decision. Once we got through the fog in the harbor the visibility began to improve and again we made it through the entire day without any significant rain. The forecast showed showers around 3 pm when we eased into port at Chicks Marina at 2:30 but the clouds and rain completely passed us by. We showered and I ate a late lunch while Bill napped before we headed out to do some shopping and to sight see. The first spot was Walker Point where the Bush compound is located. I was shocked to see at least ten cars pulled over taking pictures. Apparently W and Laura are here now and our driver thought Jeb might be too. Very cool. We got a few provisions and then went on to drive through the center of town. Very touristy but so New Englandy. After that we returned to the boat for a cocktail before heading out to dinner. Mable’s was fully booked so we went instead to Alison’s. Bill and I both went for the lobster dinners and they were sweet as could be! By 8:00 we were walking home. Again the rain in the forecast failed to materialize. now we are back in the boat and the forecast says thunder showers in 40 minutes. Ha! We’ll see.
