A Stones throw away

Last Thursday as we were about to depart Oak Harbor for the 15 mile crossing of Lake Pantchartrain the fog again rolled in. As we learn about sailing plans,, always have a backup. My Song is still at Oak Harbor and today I became a resident.

FOG

Sailing plans are made to change every few minutes. Woke at daylight with plans to spend New years Eve in Gulfport, MS only to find the boat engulfed in pea soup fog. Sailed all day

Today was one of those sails you remember for a lifetime. Full sail, steady southwest winds, 30 miles across Mobile bay, good company with Andrea and Noel.

Two long days

60, s-8, clear
After a good run down the Tenn-Tom of 45 miles we(Star Hunter & My Song & Shantyboat) anchored just below Gainesville Lock in a quiet canal with 20 feet of water. In the morning we awoke to frost covered boats (I need to go south faster) and fog shrouded waters. Keith and Heather Kayaked over for omulettes while we waited for the fog to lift.
50 miles later and with steadily rising temps we docked at Demopolis yacht Basin. Confussed as to what to do today,, probablely stay here and leave very early tomorrow morning, the problem is the lack of anchorages and marinas from here on. One fuel stop at the 115(presently at the 215 mile marker) and almost no good anchorages, just barge canal and swamp.
Presently thinking that I should be in Mobile(God willing) within four days.
