Well, it's been along time since the last post but a lot has taken place and shape. First I sold the house. Man was I lucky to get it sold in 5 months! Mary and I split the furniture between our house in Pikesville Maryland and our condo in West Palm Bech. The furniture in Pikesville has been delivered and we are heading down to Florida this coming weekend to take delivery on Monday. Between all this moving Midnight Breeze was splashed and delivered to the marina. And our first full day of sailing lessons is in the history books. I must say sailing is a lot harder than power boating. We really had some hard laughs with the captain. Now, remember I have never been sailing before, but when Captain Gordon said start hauling in the main sheet I asked him how the hell was I going to take the sail down by myself. I had no idea a sheet was a line!!!! I must have dozed off for that lesson. But all in all I think Mary and I did fine. We spent the first two hours going over the systems of the boat and then the next two hours motoring, pulling into our slip and fuel dock and doing several different maneuvers. The last four hours were spent learning the different points of sail with the main and jib. Now, that was three weeks ago. We haven't had time to take her out since because of our other commitments. We are scheduled for a second lesson on June 12th. Hopefully we will have Midnight Breeze out on our own for some practice.
Until next time BE SAFE!
