Seeing the sights in Noumea
14 September 2009 | Port Moselle Marina
John
While waiting for our batteries in Noumea we have been visiting local attractions such as the aquarium(see photos added today) and maritime museum both of which were excellent. We have also been enjoying the company of the many friends we have made from other yachts and sharing rinks and meals with them aboard Migaloo and their various boats. We have also signed up for the Sail Indonesia rally departing Darwin in July 2010 and finishing in Singapore about October 2010. From there we think will will head for Thailand and spend Xmas , new year in Phuket before heading off again , possible to the medditerainian on another rally in January 2011 very exciting just thinking about it !
Whilst I have been typing this Chloe has just dropped by to tell us that our batteries have been cleared by customs so we should have them tomorrow. Our visa ran out today so Herve & Chloe of Noumea Yacht services visited French embassy on our behalf and explained the situation and as a result we have been granted a 10 day extension,,,,thanks Herve & Chloe, these guys have been so much help! So we will hopefully get the batteries tomorrow and leave the marina on Thursday . We will then be back watching the weather and waiting for an opportunity to head for Port Villa Vanuatu ,, can`t wait to get there. We will let you know when we are on our way ,, J&L
