Frank & I have completed our last morning late shift 10pm - 4am...(Jane & John doing 4pm - 10pm) eagerly awaiting land on the Horizon this morning. All hands were on deck earlier like kids waiting for Santa to arrive....all hanging off dodger looking for land. We have had "finally" the predicted grib weather SW light conditions... poled out Genoa & Staysail & Main up...made for a great sailing day 7.6-9.2+ KNTS TODAY....good to have the engine silent...We have been busy eating the last of our Vanuatu Beef....prior to Quarantine boarding us and removing from Freezer...Weather is freezing...We expect to be tied to Quarantine Marina @ Opua around 10pm tonight (7pm oz time)....Quite an exhilarating adventure...majority of the time Migaloo & Crew were all alone on this ocean passage (bar 1 vessel earlier on) but I never felt isolated, scared or alone,we had a great team who made the passage a pleasure....just an amazing adventure ...to have an ocean all to yourself is bliss!!! Alot of differnt variety sea birds greeting us today...apparently some penguins thrown in..Frank was the only one who saw them...looking forward to disc overing what NZ has to offer....I expect sundowners to be be big tomorrow to celebrate this crossing...not all went to plan...had a few hiccups!...but all arrived safe and sound....love to all Lea John ( crew Frank & Jane)
