21/1-27/1/10 - Spent a few more days at Barrier Island taking walks and enjoying in & around Smokehouse Bay, We collected and shared some smoked blue mussels (smaller ones) & Oysters with our boatie friends and finished at Fitzroy Boating Club on the final night with Ivory Keys (Val & Bill NZ). We all went our seperate ways the next morning we had a great 6 hour sail to Kawau Island anchoring in Bostaquet Bay for the night (only boat for a change) enjoyed a walk & swim at the beach. The next day heading out and Windflower called us up and we decided to stay around Kawau Island and enjoy the light conditions and sunny weather. John & I spent a few hours on the beach at Dispute Cove Kawau Island...golden sandy/pebbly beach, and swam again (the water is still very fresh - need a bit of sun first to brave jumping in) Directly opposite I had a great view of Beehive Island - a pure white sandy cay Island ... needing a high tide to get there I just enjoyed the view...as I have written before...miss my white aussie sandy beaches. We headed to Stockyard Bay and anchored with Windflower for the night, shared a BBQ onboard with John & Lyn. We headed into Mansion Bay the following morning and enjoyed a scenic walk and coffee at the Water at wharf Cafe. (Biggest Scone with Jam & Cream I have ever seen! John devoured it!) Hope everyone had a great "Australia Day" We were thinking of you all, it was a quiet one for us...no other Aussies Sailing with us! We did have an Invite to Aussie Party, but weather conditions made it difficult to get there. Cheers John & Lea x
