Cruising Noumea

Leanne
We have collected Donna (Peter's Friend) and have spent three nights in Port Moselle Marina again due to weather and organising a few formalities when Peter leaves us to return to OZ - removing from crew list and formalities so he can return and board Migaloo again when we continue onto Vanuatu or return to OZ. Weather has been Cloudy, rainy, humid & cold - all in one day. We have spent a night out with Herve (Local French business man) watching the Rugby, French V NZ at a local bar, we were treated first class, in our company was an Irish Man (who could swear as well as John), 3 Aussies, Kiwi and 4 x French locals...sounds like the beginning of a JOKE! We later spent some time at a Tapas Bar with live music (Very Good) - Noumea has a Festival of Music currently happening all over so very entertaining wherever you are socialising around Marina and Bar's & Restaurants.
We later ran into another group of young Aussie's at a night club we had met onboard MV SASSY 60+ FT (Our OZ mechanic John Newton motored to Noumea with Pam & Morrie and daughter Candy and two crew)
Captain Jack joined the local French boys in a few glasses of their RUM...very heavy head the next morning.
We have braved the weather and we are now anchored at BAIE MAA (John said reminds him alot of Shaw Island - Whitsundays) it is one of the best trade wind anchorage's near Noumea, with a huge bay offering shelter from north, east and south winds. Peter, Donna and John snorkelled and strolled the beach this afternoon...Still showering and cold, so I stayed onboard and read my book & enjoyed the misty spectacular mountain views.
We are still enjoying the local pastries !!!! Maybe I should have gone for that walk...
We thoroughly enjoyed reading all your comments on our blog - we do not get to see them unless we go to an Internet cafe...so thankyou (Josh loved your day you shared - very similar to ours) (Ross..so many questions to answer... we have not seen enough, but what we have is extremely picturesque, and you would thoroughly enjoy, we would have to wisk you off the plane to the boat as probably not your cup of tea around Port Moselle, give us some time and apparently Port du Sud will be more to your liking...yet to experience!)
Love to All
Lea & John
