Left Port Moselle Marina yesterday after a Fantastic Meal with our Aussie Friends from MV Sassy at local French Restaurant" La Chaumiere" which was recommended by an Aussie Friend from home. Wow! we had a wonderful 4 course meal and 2 x bottles of wine and coffee cost approx $75 Oz per head..not one ounce of food was left on our plates. Delicious! (Asparagus mouse on thin Malba Toast,Thin slices of beef, crab mornay, lamb cutlets, sorbets and chocolates cake..mmmmmmmmm) We made our way South of Noumea a great sail with Main and Genoa SE 12-15knts travelling approx 5.5knts headed for Baie de Prony, decided to Anchor out in Bonne Anse as only staying the night as we are making the most of the excellent forecast and have a seven hour journey to Isle of Pines tomorrow morning.
Bonne Anse has several anchorages marked - we tried at least three anchorages prior to successfully anchoring. Alot of large bolders, reef and muddy red soil/sandy bottom. This anchorage was unusual...Ayers Rock meets Rain Forest meets reef...we will spend some time here again on our way back. cheers take care Lea John.
