Spent yesterday at Ilot Tenia approx 7 nm NW of Ilot Ducos...The entrance was marked but appeared to have several coral heads and looked very shallow... we eventually found a spot we were comfortable entering and slowly found our way into the anchorage - an hour off low tide anchored in 1.3m. The cold E - SE still blowing up to 20 knts...Tinny in water and headed for the Island. What a beautiful spot, surrounded by reef close to shore and the outer reef not far in distance...with breaking surf (This is where we saw locals kite surfing the day before) On a hot sunny day this would be magic. John and I walked the whole island...we had it all to ourselves. Tenia is a environmentality protected island so no collecting...enjoyed taking photo's of the diverse surroundings & makeup of the Island. It appears to have been or still is a loacl tourist attraction as Huts chairs etc for day visitors...rated as good scuba diving and snorkellig... we intended to stay the night as wind had eased....but high tide and wind increased, up anchor and back to Ilot Ducos Baie des Moustiques for the night.
