Hardly a breath of wind for us novice sailors, so motored all the way to Ilot Maitre, passing Robyn's Nest along the way (True blue sailors, kite up making the most of the slight breeze) Crystal clear water & blue skies still shining on us. Matt on bean bag reading his third novel one included from Robyn's Nest" Easy Way to stop smoking"...so far 2 days no smoking...John is reading it now...has not finished it yet! Migaloo travelling along well,John spent 3 days on & off cleaning bottom @ Kouare with our hooker. Only concern is we may need to replace our batteries onboard Migaloo .... Arrived around 2pm Ilot Maitre which is only 3miles from Noumea. Ilot Maitre is surrounded by an enormous coral reef with several bungalows over the water. We tinnied in for a look...great place to stay, very modern. clean and friendly service, lagoon pool with bar overlooking the reef. John, Matt & I had a cocktail around the pool and explored the facilities on the Island. We were going to have Dinner ($40 AUD ph), but decided we will take Matt to restaurant in Noumea we enjoyed, better value (more food) for your money. Dinner & movie onboard Migaloo. Woke to another fantastic day...wind to drop to 1knt @ lunchtime... so headed to Ilot Nge, breakfast onboard & headed for a snorkel, Coral quite colourful & lots of fish to see. Walked the Island,it has several huts & BBQ plates, Ilot Nge is a Noumeans local spot, so Jet Ski's & plenty of moorings for 8m or less vessels. Back onboard to soak up more sun on deck..Matt enjoying bean bag on Deck (Hogging my spot!) he is trying to catch up with our skin colour, he said we look black, John's hair is longer & blonde he looks like a surfer (Matt said when his hair was all messed up he looked like Albert Einstein...not nice!) We will have lunch onboard Migaloo & head to Noumea for Matt's final night with us .
