We are right where we need to be.....
18 November 2014 | Gasprilla Marina

Some days don't go as planned......
We enjoyed Sarasota, which included walking in the downtown area and taking in their Saturday Farmers Market.
We headed for Englewood Beach and anchored out. We dinghyed over to a local pub for late lunch, then walked the beach. Lots of families enjoying sunny Sunday afternoon before the anticipated cold front.
On Monday morning, Mike decided we should dinghyed over to the 7eleven and get a donut before heading to our next destination, Cayo Costa State Park. But the motor would not start on the dinghy. We made some calls and found a marina that would take a look at it when we got there.
We arrived a Gasprilla Marina before noon, had lunch while they looked at the motor. Captain John runs the Marina and was very accomdating on our non scheduled repair issue. Repairs were made (spark plug issue) and at a very reasonable rate. Gasprilla is top notch marina.
We were feeling really good to get the repair made and not that far behind on getting to our next destination. That was until captain (Mike) failed to secure a line on the dinghy and it wrapped around the prop. Not good.
Captain John yelled to drop our anchor and we drifted back to our slip. Capt John helped us tie off and Mike got his scuba gear out. He dove in the chilly water and cut the line. Captain John stayed right there to make sure we were ok. (Capt. John dad grew up in Key West & knew Hemingway)
So now we are ready to leave....or so we thought. As we were about to throw the lines off Again, capt. John said " do you realize what the weather is going to do in a few hours". Seems a storm was brewing and possibly a tornado.
Captain called & arranged a transistent slip for us. Around 4 pm the storm rolled in and we were safely tucked in our slip....we were right where we needed to be.
Sometimes things just work out the way they are supposed to work out....
