After all these months of preparation we are finally in the islands. We crossed the Gulf Stream without any problems. We were very stressed about the crossing and had a sleepless night. Today was a beautiful, sunny day with great winds. The ocean was a deep blue. After a 100 feet, our depth finder just said "deep". The charts showed 5000 ft.! We were able to average over 8 knots, sometimes reaching 10.4. We made it to Bimini in under 10 hours. We are safely at a dock, had a great seafood dinner and are looking forward to a great night's sleep. We may be here a few days as a storm is brewing. Then we will head to the Abacos. I am sitting in the cockpit writing this. The temp is 75. A nice breeze is blowing and the stars are amazing.
