Mary/Greg
We were so excited to get here in the middle of the afternoon. The channel is narrow and shallow. We draw 5.5 feet. Called the marina and they said it had been dredge to 7 feet. So in we go. Oops, very low tide (called a moon tide). We went bump and were no longer moving. Backing up did not help. So we sat. Power boats went by and waved. Several asked if they could help. Nothing to do but wait for the tide to go up. After 2 hours we were free and got to the marina. Michael and Jennifer welcomed us and got us tied up. It was great that they stayed open to get us in. There is a fabulous bar/bistro so we had great rum punches and dinner. We so love the fresh fish. Greg had to go up the mast to fix a line that we broke in our attempt to get ungrounded. Here he is going up in the world. Weather is coming in--squalls and high winds. We will stay here until Saturday, at least.
