Left Highborne Cay about 8:00 and sailed to Warderick Wells Cay. The sea was bouncy and it was partly cloudy but is was a shorter day. This is in the Exuma National Park. It is so beautiful. It is a very tricky entrance as the water is shallow. There are only mooring balls and we were assigned #20. This is at the end of a U-shaped ares with a sand bar in the middle. We had to "read the water" and follow the darker turquoise around until we found it. The color of the water is truly beautiful. After checking in at the ranger house we hiked to BooBoo Hill. The story is that a schooner shipwrecked here many years ago and all aboard drowned. No bodies were recovered. If you sit at the top of the hill you can hear their haunted cries. Well we did not hear them but it was a beautiful view! Nearby are several blowholes. The water from the sea hits the cliffs and travels through caves underneath and squirts up through holes in the rock. At high tide it looks like a mist shooting up from a hole. Quite incredible. We then snorkeled the nearby shallows where the fish and fan coral were beautiful.
It is amazing that there is no town here but we do have internet. Well we have to pay for it at $15 for 24hours but it is worth it. The things we take for granted are precious here: wifi, water, electricity!
