Greg sunny and warm
"How fresh would you like your Turkey for dinner. You can pick it out and we will be happy to butcher it right here so you can take your it home with you." said the vendor. We said " thanks but no thanks it would not fit in our oven on the boat." This was just one of the experiences we had at the market. We walked by the fresh fruit stands, smelling the fresh citrus of the oranges and limes. The smell of the smoked pork and sausages had us ready for lunch. Fresh cilantro had us thinking it is time for mexican food. Then we walk by the dumpster and all those wonderful smells are suddenly forgotten and you can't get far enough away.
The people here are happy, smiling and very friendly to us gringos or cowboys as one person yelled to us since two of us has worn cowboy style hats.
What a wonderful day started with rum tasting at the local rum factory, followed by the market, then the cigar shop,( I did take a few puffs), to the amber museum, lunch and finally a tram ride up 2000' to get a look at the entire area. It was a wonderful day.
Tomorrow we will explore the countryside, a chocolate factory and some other places I cannot remember. We will end up at 27 waterfalls which we heard was not to be missed. We also get to swim underneath the falls. Sounds pretty cool to me. i had better rest up, but maybe just another bit of this great rum I started with for breakfast.

About: Greg has been sailing since he was 21. I grew up in North Dakota and started taking advantage of the constant winds. After selling my bicycle store in 2006 we got more serious about living our dream on a sailboat. Greg and his wife purchased Mile High Dream in 2013.
Greg and Mary had owned Nada Mas, a 23' South Coast, on Lake Dillon in Colorado for 33 years. We chartered in the Caribbean and Calif. numerous times. We were excited to begin our dream. While waiting for a weather window in the Truks and Caicos, Mary died unexpectedly Jan. 6 2015 after a [...]
