scenery change

20 February 2017 | Summit County, Colorado
blue bird day
This year I decided to experiment with a change of scenery during the winter. I had met a couple last ear and again this year that take a month off from sailing and head back to the states to do some skiing and just get off the boat. The last two weeks away from Mile High Dream have been a whirlwind of fun. Tomorrow I fly back to Mile High Dream.
What did I do, you might ask? Well I cross-country skied, downhill skied, went dog sledding, drove to Flagstaff Arizona and on the way stopped at the Grand Canyon. In Flagstaff I helped a friend pick up a Bernese Mountain dog. She is a beautiful dog and we had so much fun staying at the breeders house. He, his wife and two ten year old daughters raise Bernese Mountain dogs. We got to spend the night with them, five adult dogs and one puppy. It was so great to have a house full of dogs with a loving family. The two and one half year old that we brought home is a bundle of love and energy. I had forgotten how much I love dogs. So much of this week has been spent spoiling the dog. Since I get to leave it is only fitting to spoil it rotten and then run off to the the Caribbean.
So now I am headed back to the warm tropical breezes, soft sand and turquoise waters.
It has been a wonderful twelve days back in Colorado.

Greg and Mary have owned Nada Mas, a 23' South Coast, on Lake Dillon in Colorado for 27 years. We have chartered in the Caribbean and Calif. numerous times. We are excited to begin our dream. While waiting for a weather window in the Truks and Caicos, Mary died unexpectedly Jan. 6 2015 after a [...]
