Went ashore today to check out Cat Harbor and Two Harbors. From where we anchored it is about 1/2 mile walk to the other side of the isalnd - where the town of Two Harbors is. The weather was fantastic - hot and sunny! Sharon got a kick out of the one room schoolhouse, the bulletin board in front showed that there were 12 students total!
In 1990 I worked on Catalina Island, in the construction trade. Islanders are "different". What I mean is; it takes a special kind of person to live on an island. Many are alchoholics, some are just plain anti-social and prefer to be left alone. Most people work for the "Island Company", which seems to own and run the whole island. It's an interesting place to visit!
