Awoke this morning to a beautiful day dawning! We decided to get back out to the anchorage, as a mooring here is $40 a night! We re-anchored in our old spot, but farther away from the fishing barge and bouy. One thing that I haven't mentioned is that at night there are about 25 fishing boats that sit right outside the harbor fishing for squid. They do this by shining bright lights down into the water, then snagging the critters as they come up to feed. So in the evening we look out and see a bay lined with lights, it's pretty cool.
We met some of our neighbors today; Rob and Stephanie are headed to Mexico for good, sounds like they've liquidated everything. Al and Carol are live-aboards; Catalina is their "home" base, they work via internet. Keith and his wife are retired and planning to head down to Mexico later this fall.
We went in town and walked one of the trails today, then got ice cream!
