After the rugby game, the supply ship “Sitka” arrived on the island. Since the tsunami and the rebuilding, these have come more frequently, as much as once every three weeks, but people told us they expected the visits to drop off once the rebuilding was finished.
This was a major event: the ship brought passengers, water cisterns, small boats, building materials, and food including ice cream!! Along with quite a few locals, the very determined Rani from SV Ladybug waited for hours in the hot sun for her container (it must have been at the bottom of the pile of supplies) and was generous enough to share it with us. What a treat!
