Middle Percy Island

Mandy / nearly perfect
Departed Pearl Bay in what Captain Chaz described as lively conditionsđŸ˜‚. I however, could only describe the 60nm journey as dismal and nerve wracking. Whilst I tried to be a brave sailor I failed dismally đŸ˜ and the only positive I could see was that others were sailing with us and I knew where the life jackets were. Captain Chaz did an amazing job of getting us there safely whilst reinforcing to me there was never any issues. As we rounded the heads for South Percy and things slowly eased off I regained my courage and was looking forward to arriving at the famous Middle Percy Island. After we safely anchored up we had an early night as we were both exhausted!
This morning we went ashore to the Percy Hilton and spent a few hours looking at the famous A Frame and it's 50 years of sailing memorabilia left by passing sailors. We hung our addition to the collection, purchased some local honey from the honesty box system (a family live on the island) and then departed mid morning for Curlew Island. A short sail today in amazing conditions , my idea of just perfect and even saw a whale teaching it's newborn the skills of broaching. Anchored up nicely before we head into Mackay toqmorrow for a few days of restocking supplies and then into the Whitsundays we head ☺
