Well after a fairly good night at anchor with not too much swell we were up and away early to make the passage into Mackay. It was a great sail today in ideal conditions so Mandy the Mate was a happy girl which meant Captain Chaz was spoilt with a nice lunch of whatever was left in the fridge 🍞🍖🍏. I'm totally amazed at what I can pull together after 8 days and no Woolies or Coles!
We passed through the pilotage area where all the coal ships anchor off so we certainly looked liked a little dot next to these big boys🚢.
We are booked in at Mackay Marina for 3 nights and I will say we are already meeting people again that we have met on our journey so far. The Marina is abuzz with activity, such as repairs restocking, racing for a looooong shower and there is plenty of booze coming down onto boats for restocking prior to heading into the Whitsunday Islands. I've booked the Marina "bombadore" (and old beat up commodore that I'm assured goes like a rocket......she's just a bit roughy around the edges😃) for Monday so we will get all our supplies on board before heading out Tuesday. Well that's the plan so far😀.
