Navigational Hazards
09 August 2015 | On route to Whitehaven
Mandy / almost hot!
Motoring along this morning passing in between islands when I hear Captain Chaz yell out what the ....is that. "Is it a rock shelf or a massive log?" Quick check of charts tells us nothing should be there and then suddenly a spray comes from its spout 🐳🐳. Usually whales move quite quickly away from you however this female, and what we now believe was her new born were quite motionless and certainly gave us a fright.
Had a lovely night at Thomas Island in the company of a few yachts. In the afternoon a mega million dollar powercraft also accompanied the group and at night looked like it would take a nuclear power station to keep its lights running 😂. We certainly were chuckling to ourselves as we are very careful with our power consumption, however decided when you were running something that was its own floating island you probably didn't give a damn. Anyway I'm sure we will see plenty more of the rich and famous as we move deeper into Whitsundays. Off to the fabulous Whitehaven tonight and will be in Airlie for the weekend.
