Amazing, Exotic Thailand
09 January 2014 | Phuket, Thailand
Hello from Thailand!
We love Thailand! Matt arrived in Langkowi, Malaysia on Dec. 15th. After a couple days of touring and him resting up, we headed north to Thailand. Our 1st island, Ko Lipe was only a mere 20 miles away and the start of our wonderful journey thru Thailand to Phuket. By the way, KO means ‘’island’’ and HAT means ‘’beach’’ in Thai.
All the islands are mountainous, green, lush, exotic and beautiful. Some are more laid back than others while some are quite touristy. Either way you are bound to find beach bars and amazing Thai food where ever you go. The laid back islands are funky and on the hippie side – those are my favorites! Many of the islands have caves and the diving has gotten clearer as we moved north. We’ve done about 6 dives in the last few weeks.
Animal life has been entertaining and we’ve had a ball with the monkeys, elephants and tigers. I want to take them home with me!
We are currently in Phuket and Matt just left to go home after 3 ½ weeks. We miss him too! We’ll be in Thailand until April or May. We’ll then pull the boat out of the water and head home. It’s been a long time, but we’ll be staying home about 6 months this time and returning to Thailand and Malaysia around Jan. 2015. The plan is to cruise Borneo, Philippines and Indonesia once again. We also plan to stick around South E. Asia for 3 to 5 years before moving on…….at least the plan for now!
As always, we hope you enjoy the pictures in the gallery on the right. Enjoy!!
