Well, our first crossing for the season went well. We returned to Tonga to find Mokisha in need of some cleaning & the usual projects. After almost a month we headed out for Fiji - a 4 day sail. It was a pleasant sail with the wind behind us & the sun shining. Once we arrived in Fiji waters & the first reef (one of many), we still had another day to go to reach the main island.
Fiji is wonderful, the people full of laughter and friendly. Unfortunately, we were only to spend a week in this exotic, sun drenched paradise as we agreed to deliver a Danish boat "55 Nord" to Thailand. The delivery was to be from Sydney, Australia to Darwin, Australia where we would join a rally. A rally is a bunch of boats traveling together to another destination, in this case Indonesia. Along the way cultural events, tours, dinners and activities are planned for all who participate in the rally at each stop.
So we put Mokisha on the hard in a ''grave''. In Fiji the boat's keel is put into a hole in the ground & on tires to hold her up. Quite unusual but we like Mokisha being so close to the ground. We could use the swim step to get up on her!
Now we are north Sidney, Australia trying to get this boat ready to go north.
