Day 13 - July 13th 2011
Although we were on a dock that rocked and creaked we slept well until the boat on the other side of the dock decided to leave early, a huge Island Packet called Whatever. He must have had trouble getting out as he used his thrusters and made a lot of noise so early in the morning, we were not sure of what time it was. Doug got up at 06.30 and checked lines and then back to bed for another couple of hours. I went for a long walk found another Timmy's but had Pinot so could not get coffee. When I got back Doug was filling the diesel tank with our jerry cans as they had no dockside pumps here. It is very windy, whitecaps out on the river and I thought it a good idea to go and get some groceries and a coffee and check out the town. On the way back we bought 2 lobsters. We left about noon and the wind was much better. Rocked and rolled for a couple of hours, little bit of sailing but yes, wind was on our nose. How many times have we said that. When you are travelling to a certain destination, the wind is always blowing the wrong way. Eventually the wind died completely and it was time to crack open those lobsters. Pinot was not sure about them at all, we enjoyed them and relaxed as we motored along. Arrived at this cute little marina Riviere Madeleine and welcomed by JP who was the self-appointed
welcoming committee who took people to town if needed. Who was there but Whatever, so far we have not met many English travellers other than My Cyn. 50 miles today.
