DAY 18 – December 23rd 2011-Jensen Beach – 27 15.294N:080 13.415W
Cannot remember when I woke, I had such a good sleep, I could hear John and Doug chatting, he was going ashore and wanted to say goodbye should we leave before he got back. After I got up I tried the internet and it was being very difficult. We decided to go ashore so that I could get a couple of hours of work in, showered and did some laundry. Everyone was having the same trouble with the internet so I used my stick and finished up my work. We took the laundry and Pinot back to boat and then caught the free bus to the local Publix. Filled up with groceries, wine and Mount Gay and back to the marina, I would have liked to do a little bit more shopping and get some Xmas items as the boat is not very Xmasy looking. The dinghy dock here is packed, last night for Happy Hour, there must have been 50 dinghies, so funny barging your way through all these inflatables to get ashore. When we got back on Moma we decided that we would carry on and not stay the night, it is now 14.00 hrs, said our goodbyes to John saying that we shall meet up in the Exumas. We have had to say to our friends in Lubbers Quarters that we shall not be with them for Xmas due to my trip back to Ottawa and we are now 3 or 4 days behind our schedule. I did get hold of Tina and Lee and we are going to meet up with them and my friends Bev and Bob in Pompano. So we need to get further south. The Indian River opens up into a huge lake/lagoon after Vero and it was like this all the way to Jenson Beach. We arrived in the dark at 18.30 hrs, anchored and cooked bangers and mash……yummmy A little PS here, for those familiar with co-ordinates. I posted one the other night without a 0. It is only a little thing a 0 but when you use it on your co-ordinates I found us anchored in the middle of Afica. HaHa. Had to make that change.
