Sunny hot and blue skies
DAY 25 - December 30th 2011- Miami
We woke at 07.00hrs to the sunset popping over the palm trees and a very low bridge at the end of this peaceful river. Spent an hour or so catching up on some work and calling the Bahamas, while Doug prepared the dinghy for us to go ashore and get some supplies. Off we go first to the Miami Yacht Club to shower and then across the bay to Publix. This was further than we thought and through some heavy traffic and rough water, eventually on the other side we motored down a narrow little river and under some low bridges to tie up right outside Publix. Wanted to stock up on supplies that we think we cannot get in the Bahamas. Back across the river with a very full dinghy and unloaded, it took me an hour to store and arrange everything. By now it is 16.00 hrs. Doug had checked his email and had a reply from the sailor who suggested this anchorage. He invited us over for cocktails; we were only a couple of hundred feet from his house so off we go. There we met Coral and Tommy who were very hospitable and we chatted for hours into the evening. They have a steel trawler that they keep on Lake Ontario, they love leaving Miami in the summer and cruising our waters on the Canadian side.
